Larissa Hage was born in Basel, Switzerland, lived in Oregon, America, Belgrade, Serbia, and Florence, Italy. With her Serbian and Lebanese roots, diversity is a source of inspiration for her paintings. Her work challenges the audience’s perception of female power and uses oil and acrylic painting to explore this process of creation. By using darker color schemes and playing with contradictions, like fragility and power, or seduction and resistance, Hage is portraying the strength in women. She was one of the first artists to organize a physical NFT exhibition in Switzerland, creating a dialogue between oil paintings and Virtual Reality. “For me, the urge to create is an obsession. My motivation is to take risks, find courage, and question boundaries.”
